Day 15: ASAP & Marquee Mall, Pampanga

Sunday, October 27th 2013

Today is the big day! Sarah Geronimo gets to share the stage with Jason Farol for his debut on ASAP!  we arrive early to get our pretty on in the dressing room.

Jason got too meet many filipino stars including Charice Pempengco and Gary V.  Gary V. had very nice compliments on Jason's voice and is a huge fan!  Great things to hear from a national legend.  We also caught a glimpse of his rehearsal and he can still dance like he was 20 years younger!

Charice & Jason before rehearsals

Practicing 'Me & Mrs. Jones" for the first time in the same room, this power ballad duo sounded great together.  It was obvious this would be the performance of the weekly show and we can tell the entire ASAP staff was very excited to witness it.

Here's Me:

And now we wait....and wait.... and wait...9am....10am...11am....11:01am.....12pm.....1pm....1:15pm...........

1:45pm!!!! They're about to go on and we are rushed to the side of the ASAP stage.  Jason's VTR starts to roll and he's talking in Tagalog!?! ooowow!

Overly eccentric pop-stars scream wildly for Sarah, but once Jason sang past the first verse all eyes were on him.  So... Get This-- Hundreds of tweets simultaneously go out about Sarah's duet singer Jason Farol.  I can confidently say he has won over many fans after a performance like that.

Sarah and Jason banter about his new album and future plans and upcoming shows and let people know where they can see him and how they can download his album (Jason also gave Sarah a nosebleed).

In case anyone has missed it,

Here's Gary V.

Immediately after the ASAP performance it was run straight to the Chill Out studio for an interview with Chill Out ASAP crew.  Jason performed 2 of his songs on his album to the fans watching the live online stream.

Apparently Jason and I also have a habit of giving nosebleeds to everyone we talk to (I don't really understand the meaning behind that saying).  The hosts of the show had a few laughs about the english-only speaking Jason- but he's learning!

2 shows done! Time to speed over to Pampanga for Jason's 3rd mall show in 3 days.  But wait, we took a picture in front of ABS-CBN studios with this beautiful view behind us.  Finely crafted stairs that lead up to glass doors, with amazing rails and a concrete wall on the sides;

I Promise that's the studio behind us
A few hours later we arrive at Marquee Mall with plenty of time for me to roam around and for Jason to wait in the green room again.

1 hour before showtime and the seats are already starting to fill:

Sheng Velmonte opens this show since Anja Aguilar was not able to make this one.  Great performance and some sweet dance moves. Absolutely a star to watch out for!
Another full crowd and even fans from upper levels stop to watch Jason perform

Shows over. This line is NUTS! Definitely the longest fan line of his mall tour and it took over an hour for him to meet each one!

Mandy Moore even flew in just for him!

After a few photos with loyal family members and a great security staff it was time to finally put a long day to rest.

Just kidding- One more photo with me:

Jason's off for the next 2 days so we decided to grab a drink in Makati and found a local band playing at a bar called Spicy Fingers.  Amazing voices, amazing band, amazing energy.

Chaos, panic, pandemonium- my work here is done.  Long fun day with an ocean full of memories and candy.  Lets do another quote:

"Sometimes when I say 'I'm Okay", I want someone to look me in the eyes, hug me tight and say, 'I know you're not".

Day 14: Harbor Point Mall, Subic

Saturday, October 26th 2013

2 posts in 1 day...WHAT?!

Early morning sunshine bleeds through the hotel curtains as Jason and I rise for another day on the road. Destination: Harbor Point Mall, Subic.  But first, a nice all american breakfast of champions:

Fried Chicken and Rice at Mcdonald's?! Shay-ga-doo!
Before we began our road trip we stopped by the studio for Jason to record his VTR for tomorrow's big show on ASAP with Sarah Geronimo.  He did get to practice speaking his tagalog on camera for the world to see....tomorrow...

Jason was welcomed at the studio by a screaming 100+ fans all in line to take his photo.  A simple "hello" from Jason caused the girls to cry, scream, faint, jump, and squeal to the heavens.

Now for the road trip! I  decide serenade road manager Sir Warren G to sleep with my soothing voice and new guitar.  Wait he put his headphones on....  -___-

And Jason decides to awe at the scenery for the next 3 hours:

35 potholes, 46 road bumps, 127 car honks and 45 rotations of Me and Mrs. Jones later we made it!

Same routine... Jason warms up in the green room as I explore another mall.  They set up the stage, hype up the crowd and it is showtime!

These shows have become a 2nd nature to Jason as he is looking to be as seasoned as Kobe Bryant in his prime.  The crowds are also growing along with the screams of his fans echoing through the mall's acoustics.

After the show, we see the meet & greet line pile up! It is as if each show is an apple on that old Nokia snake game.....and the line keeps getting longer and longer! (hope you're keeping up with my bad analogies)

This is a new first too! One fan gave Jason a necklace and another gave him this magic mug as a gift.  We weren't sure what is was since it was all black out of the box, but one of the event managers filled it up with hot water:

Thank you fan! Now Jason can drink his Tea and look at his photos at the same time

We end the day with a VIVA Family dinner in the green room before we hit the road for another long drive back home.

So let's end the day with an inspirational quote:

"why try so hard to fit in, when you are born to stand out"         - Elephant

Goodnight!

Day 13- Trinoma Mall

Friday, October 25th 2013

IT'S ABOUT TO GET MULTIMEDIA UP IN THIS BIATCH!
#videoshavebeenadded #thirdtimetryingtouploadbuttheinternetsuckshereandimannoyed

Today is showtime at the Trinoma Mall for the first of Jason's 3 show weekend extravaganza!  We arrive early so I was able to walk around for 5 hours but unfortunately for Jason, he was to wait in the greenroom, alone.

I was able to snag a guitar for less than $300 to keep him entertained for the time being.

We're also able to take advantage of mirror selfie time... This was the best of the 237 selfies we took:

Now for the fun stuff! The show is about to begin and the millions..... and millions of people were filing in anxiously waiting for a taste of Jason.  Now since a picture is worth a thousand words heres 3,000 to add to my word count:

Here's where things get really interesting.  Jason sings his first song and we notice the fans all around screaming at the top of their lungs.  The power and pitch of this shriek generated can only be described as.... think 14 year old Mariah Carey, on steroids.

So what better to do than summon the beast!  Jason has locked in on his prey and descends down from the stage. Which each step the screams get louder and louder until Jason sticks out his hand....

Social Media has coined this human bone crushing death grasp as #ThatGrip which has been the #1 trending hashtag on twitter for the past 3 days.

So why stop there? Me and Mrs. Jones will definitely heat this crowd up.  One lucky front row fan got to witness Jason down on one knee as he belt the words "MeeeeeeeeeEeee AaaaAaand Mrs. Mr.s Joness" In true Jason Farol fashion.  Just watch the fans reaction:

The show was great, and the fans were equally as great.  Jason spends the next hour at the meet and greet genuinely thanking each fan for coming, signing a few things and snapping a few photos.

And of course, a photo opp the the #1 fan!

Time to go home.  The traffic here seems to be a nationwide collaborative game of Tetris in effort to fill in every inch of road space with your car, van, motorcycle, tricycle, or Jeepney.  Diagonally, vertically or horizontally- Just get in the tight space, wait there patiently for 5 mins. and repeat 3 yards down the road.  Continue this process for 3 hours and you're home :)

We tired. and I'm carsick

goodnight!
